Santa Fe Century

May 19 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

This year’s Santa Fe Century encompasses two separate rides on the same weekend.  See www.santafecentury.com.  On Saturday, May 18, the Gravelon ride will feature 55- and 25-mile routes largely on dirt and gravel roads starting and ending on Rowe Mesa, southeast of Santa Fe.  On Sunday, May 19, the traditional Santa Fe Century ride will take place.  This is mainly a casual 106-mile ride that begins in Santa Fe, heads south through Madrid, Golden, and Cedar Grove, then goes east to Stanley, north through Galisteo and El Dorado, and back to the starting point.  The ride features 54- and 25-mile routes as well.  There are also timed 100- and 50-mile rides.  It is a large-scale event with complex logistics that puts thousands of riders on the road.  We anticipate needing minimally 20-W portable or mobile stations with external antennas to be positioned at the start/finish area and at rest stops and mobile stations to cruise the course to keep an eye on the riders or serve as sag vehicles.  This event is being coordinated by Jack Hess K3UGR (jwhess62@gmail.com).
