Gerry Jurrens, N2GJ, will give some additional information on the CERT Training he attended in Rio Rancho on January 18. He will share additional comments about the training and encourage members to stay tuned for further info.
Gerry also attended the February 22nd, 11th annual Techfest, sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Hams, via a Zoom Webinar. There were six presentations and Gerry will spend a few minutes describing what those topics were and suggest a possible club project for the future, drawn from one of those talks.
Also, Gerry will discuss another possible project for the club, which he participated in when a member (he still is a member) of the David Sarnoff Radio Club (N2RE). Logging contacts is important, especially for special events like the upcoming Pi Day on March 14 (3.14) or the upcoming NM QSO Party. Gerry will share some ideas regarding practice using a computer for logging programs by playing a “logging game.” If you have a laptop with any logging software application installed, bring it. Gerry will explain the game at the meeting.
